1. What are the objectives behind establishing the
King Abdullah II Award for Excellence for Business Associations – Mark of "Best
Practice"?
The objective of establishing the Mark of “Best Practice” is to serve as a means
of setting standards for business associations based on international best
practices. The Mark provides a strong incentive for business associations to
continually improve to serve their members, as well as the public and private
sectors.
Mark of “Best Practice” for business associations has been created in response
to the business associations’ increasingly important role in the growth of
Jordan’s economy, especially with respect to competitiveness, exports, and
investment.
Much of the private sector’s coordinated efforts in promoting Jordan’s economy
are due to the role of business associations, which have emerged as important
advocates for market friendly reforms to accelerate private sector-led economic
growth. At the same time, business associations are delivering valuable business
development services to their members, including management training and
networking that enhance those members’ marketing abilities, and consequently
contribute positively to the Jordanian economy.
